Meet Our New Educational Platform, Learn with Steno
An employment attorney analyzing testimony to prepare for a deposition in a wrongful termination case. A paralegal making the case to adopt new technology in their law firm. A court reporter trying to navigate the right technology to streamline their workflow.
Learn with Steno, our new educational platform, is built for moments like these.
The Steno approach is built on being highly reliable, on constantly developing better technology for the people who depend on it, and on treating the people we serve as more than numbers on a balance sheet. Learn with Steno applies this same commitment to education. The constantly evolving content is created with care, and addresses the problems legal professionals face every day.
“As a services provider, Steno is dedicated to being there when it matters and to looking for new ways to support law firms and court reporters. Those are the same standards that we’ve set for Learn with Steno,” said Dan Malgran, VP of Marketing at Steno. “This will be a reliable resource for the legal community, no matter where someone is in their career or a case.”
Covering legal AI, litigation strategy, data security and compliance, court reporting, career guidance, and more, Learn with Steno includes a variety of content formats to support the different ways people like to learn.

Learn with Steno is partnering with Lawline to offer CLE courses that attorneys can use toward their license and certification requirements. These CLEs are developed and presented by licensed attorneys on Steno’s Legal Solutions team, Joe Stephens and Sierra Van Allen. Both Joe and Sierra have been recognized this year for their impact across the legal industry.
Relativity named Joe the 2026 Best Innovator for Legal Education, and ILTA named him Innovative Leader of the Year, Business Partner. He’s not only the Director of Legal Solutions at Steno, but also a Clinical Lecturer at Texas Tech University School of Law and Chief Public Defender of the Caprock Regional Public Defender Office, the only public defender office in the country housed inside a law school.
Meanwhile, Sierra was recognized as an Emerging Leader Finalist for Business Intelligence Group’s 2026 Herizon Awards, honoring women transforming individuals, teams, companies, industries, and the globe. She translates AI litigation tools into practice-ready workflows, trains legal teams on responsible technology use, and publishes guidance on how legal professionals can integrate emerging tools into daily practice.
Currently, there are six CLE courses accredited by Lawline available from Joe and Sierra:
- Practical AI Considerations for Litigators, a comprehensive exploration of AI in litigation that bridges ethical obligations with functional implementation
- Mastering Modern Technology, an immersive course examining the ethical and competence obligations attorneys face when adopting new tech
- Professionalism in Depositions: Conduct, Tone, and the Long Game, discussing the realistic standards for professional deposition conduct from preparation through closing the record
- What AI Doesn't Tell You: Hidden Gaps in AI-Assisted Legal Research, a course going past hallucinations to examine the structural constraints that make AI legal research inherently incomplete
- Social Media Evidence: What Every Litigator Needs to Know, providing litigators with an overview of how to find, preserve, authenticate, and utilize social media on the record
- How to Get More Out of Your Depositions with AI, walking litigators through a three-phase framework for integrating AI into the deposition process
More CLEs will be added to Learn with Steno in the coming months.
