Building on the success of Transcript Genius, Steno’s new AI-powered workspace lets litigation teams analyze full case files—including pleadings, medical records, financial documents, images, discovery responses, and transcripts—directly in the Steno Firm Dashboard.
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13, 2026—Steno, the leader in tech-enabled court reporting and litigation support services, today announced the open beta launch of Litigation Genius, the next evolution of its litigation technology suite. Built directly into the Steno Firm Dashboard, Litigation Genius expands on Transcript Genius, letting litigation teams analyze their deposition transcripts alongside the rest of their case files.
Steno’s first AI product, Transcript Genius, was built to help litigators analyze their deposition transcripts. But a transcript is only one piece of a case. The rest of the record matters just as much: complaints, exhibits, medical records, discovery responses, handwritten notes, images, and correspondence. Litigation Genius puts those materials together in a single workspace, reflecting how litigation teams actually work once a deposition is complete.
"At Steno, we’ve always had one goal: to make litigation easier," said Prabhdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Steno. "Litigation Genius shows that real value comes from technology that is integrated into your existing workflows, not from bolting complex software onto a service. Because Steno transcripts and exhibits are already in the dashboard, Litigation Genius gives your team a running start on every case with a Steno deposition."
Whether a firm is new to AI or uses other AI platforms, Litigation Genius works alongside the firm’s existing technology stack. It lives in the Steno platform, where the firm’s transcripts and exhibits are delivered. When a Steno transcript comes back, analysis can start immediately in the same workspace with no exports, uploads, or additional logins. The case file grows as teams add pleadings, discovery, correspondence, transcripts from other providers, and other case materials. Users ask questions in plain English and receive answers with direct, page-level citations to source documents.
"The hardest part of adopting any legal AI tool is knowing how to apply it to day-to-day casework without disrupting your practice," said Dylan Ruga, Co-Founder, President, and Chief Legal Officer of Steno and a practicing trial lawyer at Stalwart Law Group. "Litigation Genius enters the case after a deposition, when litigators need it most. Whether you need to check witness statements against medical records, test discovery responses against deposition testimony, or prepare briefs with pinpoint cites to the record, it brings that work into one place without adding another platform to manage."
"The legaltech companies that win won't be the ones with the flashiest AI, they'll be the ones already embedded in how lawyers work every day. Steno has spent years earning that trust with litigators and Litigation Genius is a natural, powerful next step," said Gordon Crenshaw, Partner at The LegalTech Fund.
Steno clients can access the open beta of Litigation Genius today through the Litigation Genius tab in the Steno Firm Dashboard using their existing credentials. Feedback from open beta users will help shape what Steno builds next.
